My then-prejudice against the 9mm was likely the big thing that kept me from looking for a 3913. Of course, I also would have wanted the 3913NL which is probably as difficult to find as a unicorn horn. Guess I have a similar prejudice to yours!

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: What you say makes sense in every way. I think my preference is partly a prejudice based on the fact that the angled version was almost always seen as the Ladysmith and so I thought it was "girly," when of course there is nothing there to suggest that other than the name on most of those particular pistols. In fact one of our members bought one of the actual 3913 Ladysmiths and enjoyed it for a while, and it certainly didn't make him girly. He offered it to me when he went to sell it and my prejudice (and possibly lack of funds ) kept me from buying it. Isn't that ridiculous? Still, it's a fact that one of the reasons I like the Smith & Wessons is because their shape reminds me of a 1911, and changing the shape of the dust cover takes away from that resemblance. |
