I get the same MPG as you on this one, always preferring the 4" barrel also. I do like five inch barrels on large frame guns like the N-frame, Redhawk, and New Service. The Anaconda would have been nice with a 5" barrel but was never offered that way. My reason for adding an inch to those horse pistols is that they are belt guns anyway and are never going to be carried concealed. Even in earlier times they were belt guns, eh?

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Yes, your OP is longer than mine which only has a 4" barrel. (I had typed a previous response, but the site went into a Maintenance halt and my message seemed to have disappeared.) I would prefer a 4" OP, but mine was given to me, so no harm, no foul. My revolver preference (Colt, Smith, Ruger) was always a 4" barrel for general purpose shooting, rather than for precision target shooting. YMMV. Harvey |
