I load 26 grs of 5744 under a 395 gr bullet. I use this in all 45 70 including the revolvers. it goes through the crony at about 1300 fps

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Pretty amazing.  I would never have thought to laminate my own wood.  You don't let ambitious projects get in your way, do you, Elmer. How's the recoil in a carbine?  I've only ever shot a full-length rifle.
