I read a lot of books from that era.  Maybe I'm just used to it.  I might even say I prefer the careful use of words those authors exhibited.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Well it was a comparison on how the language changes.  Another note that might make some more sense. Reading Post WWI histories written in 1919 or 1920. Different styles than today. Much different.
