I've always wanted a U.S. Krag, but even in the '90s they were beyond my budget, and nowadays I could buy one, but wouldn't want to shoot it at the prices they're commanding.
I do have a Danish Krag, and although I've never shot it, the action is very smooth. It also has the distinction of being the longest rifle I own. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: These are of course very collectible now in original configuration. Collectors today are disappointed about all those Krags and other military rifles that had the stock cut back. Krags were not made in the same numbers as other rifles such as Mausers and command some high prices. I've still never added one to my collection, though I'd love to. |
