We discussed this at length here several years ago and several reasons were kicked around. As I recall, the most likely was that to these European law enforcement agencies, guns were just an extension of their badges, mostly symbolic signs of authority and just part of the uniform. Apparently, these agencies can't be sued by the families of fallen officers for not providing them with (or insisting they carry) enough gun... | ||||||
