I honestly know very little about the workings of the Model 8, I've only seen my Uncle-in-Law show me how the barrel moved upon firing, which blew my mind. So I have no mileage on this one at all, and was simply asking more educated minds than my own. ![]() |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: You think Browning's designs were generally simple? No, not necessarily simple, but straightforward IMO. The Model 8 was a spring maker's bit of heaven, and the long recoil system and bolt group weren't simple at all. Just my opinion, and YMMV. Harvey |
