Most of them were scrapped, although I've seen a few that are said to have survived. And there have been counterfeits. The reason they were scrapped, from what I've read, was for safety reasons, primarily to avoid using standard .38spl rounds in the M13 revolvers. I've never heard the 10 round maximum shots using the M41 ammunition, although that may have been true using standard .38spl ammunition.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: We were told the cylinder wouldn't hold up for more than 10 rounds, even the special loads that's why aircrew didn't want any part of them. I heard they were all scrapped because of concerns that civilians might get their hands on one with bad results. |
