Nope, this is just a standard M37 Lightweight Chief's Special with the early flat latch.
S&W and Colt both made those aluminum snubbies, called M13 Aircrewman. I remember you got one reload, that was it as the cylinder was shot after 10 rounds. I don't know about that. I do know that a special low pressure .38spl round was developed for use in these revolvers. Using standard pressure.38spl cartridges would likely damage these revolvers if they were fed a steady diet of standard pressure cartridges. Harvey |
