Heh heh--that was one of those "what did you have for breakfast" questions.  In my opening post I discussed the three similar pistols, if not by specific name--the FN Five Seven, the Kel-Tec PMR-30, and the Rock Island Armory 1911:

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I'm trying to remember the ammunition controversy. When the pistol was first introduced into the US, FN attempted to restrict the anti-armor ammunition to military and law enforcement. But, IIRC, some of that ammunition found its way into commercial distribution, as well as the "sporting" version of 5.7mm, which, TTBOMK, was JHP. Frankly, I never had much interest in the pistol, as I thought it was bulky, expensive and unnecessary for civilian use. Anyway, what pistol do you like, if any? I'm not sure what you are asking here --FN-5.7, or others? Harvey |
