Yeah, it was pretty common knowledge that SIG simply ordered pistols from GSG with their names stamped on them. I researched .22 rimfire 1911s in fair detail before plunking down my money.
All your other questions can be answered in my reply to Harvey, where I blathered a bunch. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: That's the very pistol I came close to buying about seven years ago. I had the serious hots for one and a pocket full of poker winnings to pay for it but elected to upgrade my NRA membership instead. Looking back, I think I made the wrong decision. Hope you're having fun with it, Mark - have you shot it much? I'm glad the SIG magazines worked but have to caution people here that it isn't always just a name change when two companies sell guns from the same source. I have a Montgomery-Ward Western Field 550 shotgun that I thought was just a renamed Mossberg 500. Back when I first bought it, in the 1960s, I ordered a Mossberg deer barrel for it, only to find out that it wouldn't fit! Had to take the barrel in to work and mill a clearance cut on the barrel extension to make them go together - on the opening day of deer season! Stu |
