I can understand a 4" 44 magnum as a bear gun, you wouldn't shoot it on a daily basis so hearing and wrist damage wouldn't be an issue but this monster in a 4" version would cause a bad and, possibly fatal case of the "yips" should you ever need it.....not for the faint of heart! | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: These truly are huge, two-handed revolvers. Have you seen one in person yet? They are astoundingly huge. What's more, they make them in short-barreled versions, and I'm told people carry them as bear defense in places like Alaska. The 500S&W is one of the most powerful handgun cartridges made, as you can see from Mike's caption and the comparison to the "small" .44 Magnum in photo. I don't exaggerate when I say firing this thing can cause serious wrist damage--I've never done it but I've read that from people who have done so and written about it. |
