| I made E-4 below the zone as well. We had a program where certain airmen were recommended by their supervisors to go before an interview board and if selected were approed for promotion below the window for E-4 Senior Airman, which we had at the time. That allowed me to sew on E-4 buck Sergeant early, but actually, didn't make any difference for testing for E-5 Staff Sergeant. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Very impressive, back in the late 50's and early / mid 60's God himself couldn't make staff on his first enlistment, in fact making E-4 on a first enlistment was unusual for anybody other than electronic techs because industry offered them crazy money to come to work when they were discharged. |
