That was a neat trick converting it to centerfire. Were there originally any made in centerfire, you just happened to have a rimfire exemplar, or were they only made originally in rimfire? Either way, clever work, Elmer. Also smart to add a healthy half-cock notch under the circumstances.
I can't picture an automatic safety as found on the original rifle. Is it something you can dumb down enough to explain it to me? What caliber did you make yours in, do you recall? (I ask, not knowing when you made yours. ) |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: the barrel is on square groves cut into the frame. is a link and the lever. when closed the lever over rides the link and locks it closed. the extractor traps the case in the standing frame. and the barrel moves forward of it. my problem is the old one was made in rimfire. had to put the pin down under the hammer in the middle of the frame. also did away with the automatic safety. did put in a healty half cock notch. is a screw to set trigger engagement. |
