Don Williams did produce his own BHP manual safeties, so it's quite possible that he used silver solder on it. I liked it because there was no issue with "finding it". The C&S safety is a good one -- IIRC, Mark has one on his HP.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Oops! By the way, did I mention that our BHP was back in the gunsmith's shop? The thumb safety's little operating ledge broke off making the safety practically impossible to operate. I ordered a replacement with the smallest ledge I could find from Cylinder & Slide. I watched a video on how to detail strip the pistol which led me to taking it back to the gunsmith. He looked at the safety and said it appeared to have been silver soldered together. I seem to remember that Don made his own custom thumb safeties and I wonder if that was how he constructed them? Anyway, I'm expecting to hear back from the gunsmith any day now so I can go and pick it up. |
