No splitting or breaking off the tang, though - normal wear and tear?
I still have my old Boy Scout sheath knife kicking around here somewhere. Also a handy do-all size. Stacked leather handle, aluminum pommel and a smaller Bowie-like clip point blade. It has seen abuse like only a preteen boy can give it but it still keeps on tickin'! Stu |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I think that you are correct about the possibility of such handles being somewhat less durable, than some other handle materials. This one has lost a couple of its (for lack of a better term) "high points" on the handle. However, those losses are barely noticeable and the handle has not lost any of its utility. |
