I don't recall seeing any biscuits at breakfast, it was always a slice of toast (the shingle). I remember coarsely ground meat with more spiciness than hamburger, but it could have been well seasoned hamburger...
Since the USAF I have really enjoyed biscuits and gravy for a restaurant breakfast. It was a staple in Texas and also popular in Montana and here in Washington. It's usually biscuits that taste homemade covered with a white sausage gravy. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Did they actually call that SOS? To me there is a difference between biscuits and gravy, a classic Southern breakfast, and the old SOS updated with hamburger; similar but maybe different derivations? Stu |
