A plane load of Marines on a cross country flight stopped at our base for the night, it was a steak night and that plus the fact they were sleeping in real beds in an air conditioned barracks had them asking if they could desert the Corps and join up with us!
Rather than get into a bit of inter-service comparisons on food, I think I knew what was in store (regarding food) when I raised my right hand because a friend and a cousin had already enlisted in USMC and they told me of their experiences. Always high on their list was SOS, and breakfast in bed on weekends. Well, one out of 2 ain't bad! Harvey |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: That's an understatement! I was in a SAC outfit and we always thought we were treated a little better than the "common folk" because, after all, we had the "BOMBS". We got steak at least once a week, done on a char grill much like a fancy restaurant and, they were cooked to order.
