Well, if I owned a Savage 99 I'd be a bit snobby about it as well. Maybe even more so today than 30 years ago because they are slighty less common and considerably more pricey today--and riflemen think very highly of them.
I see them for sale occasionally and have noticed that they are usually in excellent used condition. Pride of ownership? Lack of use? I don't know, but I have always thought of them as very good looking firearms. Re: the M6. I have never heard of that company. Still, too good to die, right? I hadn't heard of the company either. They do offer the various combinations, including the .22 Hornet which I think makes good sense in a survival rifle. The concept and design is too good to die, and I'm surprised that one of the bigger makers hasn't put it into a catalog. Harvey |
