I suspect the trigger on your 745 was similar to the trigger on my Tanfoglio Witness .38 Super. SAO, and the advantage here is the properly located safety.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I don't remember a lot about the trigger on Harvey's and my Hi-Power, other than it wasn't quite as good as the trigger on any of my 1911s. It didn't have the magazine disconnect to hamper it and it had been massaged by a Hi-Power specialist, so it felt pretty good. I really prefer the non-hinged, virtually take-up and reset-free feel of a good 1911 trigger.
