Suppressors are legal to hunt with in VA. One can make the argument that you're trying to be more considerate of the neighbors and wildlife around you with one.
That's cool, and I buy into the argument completely. Keeping the neighbors happy and the game tranquil are good objectives. Surprisingly, they do make subsonic loads for this cartridge and I'd have to say it's about as quiet as 300 BLK suppressed. This also means that the cartridge has a short range. Is such a cartridge capable of delivering 1000 ft-lobs of energy into a deer, even at short range? I look at that number as an often-quoted minimum for ethically hunting deer. Stu |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Suppressors are legal to hunt with in VA. So yeah, I want a suppressor for a bolt gun now. The Ruger American has the right idea. Also, last year CZ stopped making the 527 and 550. Considering I want one of those in .375 H&H... it's disappointing |
