For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I'm rereading With British Snipers to the Rhine right now, andthe author agrees! So the question to me, regarding those sights, is who designed them? And why were they kept when the Americans issued the M1917, rather than using the sights of the '03s for consistency?
