Section 25: The Lounge Subject: Seattle Area Bomb Cyclone Msg# 1215623

With the bomb cyclone tearing up the Seattle area, and a reported 700,000 without power, I couldn't help thinking about you out there. Hope you are safe and secure. Please let us know you are okay whenever you're able to.
No problems here, but thanks for the concern! We are in Sequim on the northern edge of the Olympic Peninsula a little bit right of center (the story of my life ). Sequim is right in the center of the rain and weather shadow of the northern edge of the Olympic Mountain range. The weather here generally comes from the south/southwest and the mountains split the flow. Traveling north, the weather spreads around Sequim and comes back together out in the strait between here and Canada. You get another inch of annual rainfall for every mile you move east or west of Sequim. We are in a sort of natural weather bomb shelter. All the mess east of here from Seattle down to Olympia must be Mother Nature hitting the chrome lever and trying to flush that area clean... Not working, so far... |
