Well, many black bears weigh about the same as deer, although black bear can get much heavier as well--so I don't know how good an idea that is.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: You would be surprised how many guys I see using them for black bear.  More than a couple use the 130 grain load, same one they use for deer?
