What frustrates me about my VPN is that I have to turn it off to order groceries! Neither of the major supermarket chains will process an order through a VPN. So if I can't use it during a money transaction, what good is it?

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I have learned that sometimes VPNs seem like more trouble than they're worth.  I find myself mentally estimating the risk of various web sites versus turning the VPN on or leaving it off. Probably not too bright on my part, but I use other security software as well, so .
