Comparing the shooting scores there is very little difference, however, the Savage was about half the price of the Bergara. Knowing what I know now, I would buy the Savage and use the money saved for higher quality ammo.
Both rifles have 4 X 16 scopes. I can't see the target at 50 yards so scopes are a must have. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I took the Savage with the 21-inch barrel and the Bergara BMR to the range Tuesday. I shot nine groups with each rifle. The Savage average for the nine groups was 0.437. The Bergara average was slightly better at 0.371. My best scores yet. Pretty good comparison of the 2 rifles. How about the price differential between the 2? Did you use optics or iron sights for these groups? Maybe I should quit while I am ahead. That's what I used to say . . until I tried again! Harvey |
