I've studied defense ballistics for thirty years or more. I don't mean to be critical of CCI--the company is clearly responding to a perceived consumer desire as well, of course, as a financial profit. I would not, however, ever carry .22 Magnum for self-defense, nor would I be likely to ever recommend it:
