The Hilco wipes are fairly damp, but the lube/cleaner stuff on them is light weight - not greasy or thick. I rub the wipe all over and do a field cleaning with it, but then I wipe off any excess with an old t-shirt. At that point it is ideal: it has a coating of the lubricant but it isn't oily.

I tried them out of laziness, but actually for the anal type who has an expensive firearm it would be good insurance in the field. Normally I do not like fiddly pop-up tubs, but in this case it just makes things handy when you are not in your shop area.

I have also used mine for the occasional "wipe everything down in the gun safe" ritual.
