If the six shot .45/.44/.41 is not enough, there is always the .357, which is either a 7 or 8 shooter. I don't recall if they build them on the 686 frame (7 shot) or 627 frame (8 shot) without looking. If I were as enthusiastic as you, I'd consider having whichever I chose, if not the .45, which comes this way, converted to accept moon clips. With dedicated practice, you wouldn't be short-changed. Considering that most guys practice far less than they should, eh?
I'm not sure if it holds any interest, but there is always the Ruger Redhawk with a 4" barrel (below) or the Super Redhawk Alaskan .44 Magnum with a 2.5" barrel (bottom). The Super Redhawk is a beast, and weighs 4oz. more than a full-size 1911. The Redhawk is more compact--not compact in any sense |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I have considered this Nightguard in my now nearly yearlong consideration for a new main carry gun. While I havent shot one, I have handled it, and it feels good. I like revolvers. I like they way they look, the way they feel and feel comfortable carrying one, and feel more assured it will go bang when I pull the trigger. Now, this gun is big and the ammo capacity is smaller and the reload time is slower, I see those as the main detractors from a daily carry. Sure it wont fit as comfortably in my pocket as a j-frame, but with they right holster it will fit in some of my pants and jacket pockets. I havent shot one, but the reviews seem good. They are not out of the running yet, I just need to narrow down my search to a few and go and shoot them. Of course general availability of guns in this area is hampering my search at present. |
