You've caught me in a good state of mind to discuss revolvers, not withstanding that it is pure joy for me to debate with Stu and has been for over 20 years, because he doesn't back down, even when I think I'm being a pretty good debater...  And although he "wins" 87% of our debates, verified by independent, outside research agencies, and I believe he lets me win the paltry 13% I win, and I know it, I still have a lot of fun with it.

I also read an interesting column in the current American Handgunner yesterday, Alex Hamilton's gunsmithing column.  He talked about two Ruger GP100 custom SNUBS (hey Stu! ), and how nice the Rugers turn out.  I know you don't want a new caliber, so that leaves off the .357, .44s, and .45 Colt, but besides revving up my round gun interests, it makes me want to do more research than I ordinarily might.

Where are we at on Taurus?  They've offered a wide variety of .45s and some 9mms.  Of course their catalog tends ton change monthly.  I read something about Taurus and their new CEO basically revamping the whole customer service department from front to back, side to side.  I've always thought that was the number one failing with Taurus, because they essentially make good quality, less expensive revolvers than S&W, and better than say Charter Arms or some older Rossis--though of course Rossi IS Taurus now, and Rossi has been been so much better for a while now than they were in the old days. 

For that matter Charter Arms today is much MUCH better than they were during the short-lived "Charco" incarnation during the 90s, and probably better than the Charter 2000 of 2000-2005.  And Charter is offering a 9mm that doesn't require moon clips now:
