I don't know if I ever mentioned this specifically, but I had reliability problems with my Glock 36 also. Not major, but reliability problems are problems. In a defense gun there is no such thing as minor or major reliability problems. That can be applied to competition or fun guns, though I tend to be 100% intolerant of unreliability, and eventually dump anything that won't shoot.
That said, I believe Dale has had good reliability with his G36--I don't recall if you two talked? And Massad Ayoob has written about the G30 many many times as a carry gun. I don't know how he's managed to like it if he hasn't figured out how to make them reliable. I know that if you email Roy Huntington, he can pass on any questions to Ayoob. He can be reached here if you want to try. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Nice post, I would consider a charter or taurus, as I expect the price point would allow me to do some smithing if needed to work out the trigger etc. I do not handload, I do not have the attention to detail and patience. I really wish the Glock G30sf had better reliability as that would work perfectly. I also enjoy looking around, so I am not in any serious hurry, but would like to finish the purchase this year. |
