When I first got the pistol, my thoughts were to ship it off to Don Williams and have him do a trigger job and reliability package, possibly replace the sights with a newer Colt set, and then refinish the entire pistol. That's when the refinishing issues began, as Don told me he couldn't guarantee the rollmarks on the slide would be OK after polishing, and that the frame would have to be done in something other than anodizing. Don also told me that he had a lot of backlog and he couldn't get to my pistol for some time.

So I decided to hold off on the customizing until I could find someone to refinish the pistol back to replicate factory original. And I've spent almost the entire year diddling with Colt and others on the finishing issues.

I don't plan on any customizing now. Maybe later, but I don't plan to use the pistol for defense, so I can put those thoughts on hold.
