I actually think the same thing as you and find myself just as surprised. But no, .38 is in fact ridiculously priced. It's still reasonably inexpensive to reload, but (ETA: not!) for the $4.15 a box or so when I started reloading it. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Considering I have 2 revolvers left, and haven't shot either one in a long time, adding another just doesn't make sense. (Fondling and drooling no longer seem as attractive activities as they once were.) Speaking of ammo, it bothers me that .38 Special these days is expensive when it used to be cheaper than most other center fire cartridges. I find it hard to believe that demand is down considering all the new lightweight snubbies that Ruger, Taurus and Smith have introduced.For a few years the caliber was dying off, IMO, but with all the recent activity I would have thought a boomlet was happening. Any thoughts? Harvey |
