I had that Smith for over 30 years, and enjoyed it during that time. But I turned more to semi-autos and sent it to TJ for a sale to either an employee at his shop or a customer, who I hope was as happy with it as I was previously.
BTW, speaking of revolvers, while in Cali I visited my Ruger Security Six that is on permanent loan to a friend. He has kept it oiled and wrapped in cloth for a long time, and it looked just as good as when I lent it to him. He hasn't shot it much, and had it tucked away while his kids were growing up. Just like seeing an old friend! Harvey |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: My first magnum was a Highway Patrolman, but with a six inch barrel. I entertained a desire to replace it with a four inch model like this one for years and years. I found a couple but either the price was outrageous or the state of my wallet pathetic. At some point revolvers like this became passe, hard as that is to admit for a round gun lover, and all my spare cash went to semi-automatics, or rifles, or something besides revolvers... But this one is a beauty!! Image below from Harvey Goldman - Image Title: photos Image Info: My M-28 Highway Patrolman from 1968 that I bought slightly used in the early '70s from a friend. |
