Bought one new in the box in the late 60's if I remember correctly, a 4" but the finish was not a polished blue and the grips were smaller? For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: My first magnum was a Highway Patrolman, but with a six inch barrel. I entertained a desire to replace it with a four inch model like this one for years and years. I found a couple but either the price was outrageous or the state of my wallet pathetic. At some point revolvers like this became passe, hard as that is to admit for a round gun lover, and all my spare cash went to semi-automatics, or rifles, or something besides revolvers...
