Wow that feels strange. I wandered into being an OFFICIAL Glock collector.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: It seems weird, but Glocks are now over forty years old, and there is a collector's organization. There are enough variations to them interested, and it seems that a basic requirement to be a certified Glock collector is that one has a Gen 1 in their stable. Even Glock themselves have offered the "commemorative" P80 that mimics their Gen 1 pistols. Glock Gen 1 G17:
