For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I understand the other points of view being expressed here, and I have every confidence that Dale could reproduce that group in the middle of a bullseye. But, it has always seemed just plain silly to me to open a magazine and see pictures of tight groups a foot away from the aiming point. In their defense (especially during the ammo shortage) I understand the time constraints of deadlines and that writers may not be able to get a lot of ammunition in the test caliber. It might be tough to zero each load before shooting for group size but, heck, there ought to be at least 20 rounds in each box... It is my impression that firearms and every other projectile-slinging device invented since the beginning of time was intended to hit a definitive target to the best of its and its operators' ability. If you're going to impress me with a braggin' rights or a for-evaluation picture of a target, you'll have to show me hits not misses! |
