The chief range safety officer said one day that he wished there was some way to get new shooters comfortable with having a gun go off in their hands before we started loading them up with all the other stuff. We had a brainstorming session and came up with the blank butcher paper idea for the lead-in and it has really helped.
By hitting the students again with the shooting and safety basics at each step of the way on the range we hope to condition them to hit themselves with those basics each time they shoot on their own. |
