I'd be interested in knowing the results. I suspect that they will be very similar in performance. The only reason that I handload 7.62x39 is that a few years ago, 7.62x39 dried up for about a year. It worked out well as my Yugo SKS doesn't like the steel cased Russian ammo. I built up a good supply of brass and load only for that rifle. My Chinese and Romanian Sks's work fine with Wolf amm.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Not that I've noticed, but I haven't seriously benchrested mine. A previous full-length SKS I had shot 1.5 to 2" groups with handloads at 100 yards off the bench with open sights. This was a couple decades back when I could see open sights better. I've never tried to repeat that with my para. then again, I just don't handload the 7.62x39 anymore. If I ever get a bolt action rifle in that caliber I will. But you've aroused my curiosity--I wonder if this one is truly just as accurate as that od one of mine? |
