Thanks for the reply, Mike. That 042 had me scrambling to Google it up - I had never heard of that model! It's a very interesting transitional J-frame. I like the classic stocks on that Model 24, a nice looking gun! You'll hate me for this, but all my S&W revolvers currently are stainless. I gave my daughter the one Model 15 I had.
