I can't figure out why Colts are generally so much cheaper than Smiths. It may well have to do with the fact that it's becoming virtually impossible to get an old Colt fixed these days. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Hi Mike--wonderful to see you. You'll find many of the old CompuServe members still around here. I've enjoyed Colt revolvers as well as S&Ws too. I had an Army Special made in 1908, second year of production I believe. That was the predecessor of the Official Police you mentioned. Different in name only. I am surprised by the rise in prices in Colt revolvers, especially as many classic S&Ws are still affordable. I wonder if it is because Colts are not being produced anymore? (Not that S&W makes their revolvers the same as the classics, names notwithstanding!) |
