I think the magazines should show some judgment when accepting ads, i.e. is this illegal, potentially harmful, an obvious scam? In this case, I don't think these badge ads qualify as any of the previous 3 possibilities, but should come under the heading of "just plain dumb"! Harvey

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Yeah they must be, or they wouldn't still be advertised for sale in every gun mag.  What do you think (everyone) about gun mags accepting advertising for such items?  Is there any responsibility on the magazine's part to show some judgment, or should they accept any advertising as long as the item is legal?
