For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Jerry: I notice that the officers are wearing boots and riding pants. Was that the standard uniform of the day then? If not, is it possible they were members of what was called the "flying squad" on local PDs? Today, they would be similar to SWAT, but in those days they were geared to chasing bank robbers and other automobile-borne criminals.
