For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: That was the standard Patrol Officer gear. Depending on Patrol assignment, he would be on a motorcycle (with or without sidecar, depending upon weather), or on foot patrol! Supervisors had it better, but were still in the weather until they became a LT. Believe it or not, that same building was HQ when I came on the PD, steam heat, no AC, and old fashioned jail cells. That place was brick and marble. I remember they got good money for all the marble that was removed during the deconstruction. Thankfully, the County took over all the jails, and we transport criminals to them, the County handles it from there. |
