Yep, the uniform is traditional. White 8 point hat, cap device, Sam Brown in clarino leather, white shirts dark blue pants or breeches.
I get away with doing what I want most of the time. But I am past retirement and the city wants to use me up before I leave the PD. So I wear a short sleeve shirt, no hat, and I am unsupervised. I work alone and that is how I have always worked. The shirt being white is tradition. It is Hard to keep those white shirts clean! |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I still am not used to seeing police in white shirts like in Columbus, as just about everywhere I have lived the PDs wore blue shirts. Is there some kind of history/tradition to that? Harvey |
