Ah yes--I recall that. Well, you said it best. "It was fun while it lasted." Like so much of life, eh? Be it times of interesting guns flowing through our hands, camaraderie of like-minded fellows, great income, pretty girls, or what have you. We must enjoy it while it lasts, as nothing is forever. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: When I first moved back to this area, I made friends with another inactive Marine who just happened to own a gun store, had a Manufacturer license, and owned 100+ acres of a tick farm about 3 hours from here. He was active in making select fire weapons (Post-86 samples) for some Class 3 Dealers, so I got to "help" him test fire many of those up on his property that was truly isolated from the world. Ammunition was plentiful and relatively inexpensive then, so the only investment I had to make was in the ammunition as he provided the weapons. I had the opportunity to fire a lot of different weapons, and it was truly fun. These days, that would be impossible for me, as he sold his store and his property, so all I can do now is vicariously enjoy others' experiences with select fire weapons. But it was fun while it lasted. |
