I bought mine, without the rib in 1986 in Cali, to be used as a (not legal) car gun. IIRC, I paid $250 for it and 1 extra magazine. I sold it about 10 years later for the same price. (I had graduated to other car guns in 9mmP when MO allowed car gun carry.)

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: 100% for looks! I can say that because the day I bought that pistol they had an otherwise identical pistol on the shelf without the ribbed slide! Llama apparently wanted to hedge their bets. The ONLY reason I bought the ribbed model was because the unribbed model had a very noticeable hitch in the trigger pull. I was afraid there might be a problem with the hammer and/or sear severe enough to require replacement, and not knowing enough about the insides of these at the time (they are actually 100% 1911 as I've since said many times), I was afraid of not being able to fix it, or even get parts. I've since thought I should have bought the plain slide, or perhaps both. Price was the same for each: $199! |
