| Legal consequences for a fistfight aren’t going to rise to the level of a shooting so I’m not very concerned about that. As long as you can articulate that you felt threatened and why you took the actions you did, I don’t see it being a major problem. Keep in mind, I’m not advocating you punch every punk that looks at you cross eyed. This is just for those occasions when you are confronted by a real threat and you know things are going down hill. If you are 99% sure there is going to be a fight that you can’t avoid and you wait for the other guy to strike first, you have a 99% chance of losing. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Ok, I get it, but I'm also thinking about the aftermath. You've got to think this through in terms of how are you going to explain why you got in the first strike, if you are in fact the good guy? |
