I can't argue with your point, Mark. All I can do is imagine someone completely unschooled in gun use getting input from someone only slightly more involved as to how to put that feared recoil to best use. Granted "looking badass" is likely the prime motive but who first decided that holding a gun sideways was badass rather than just silly and why did he think so?

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: ...it might be reasonable for a shooter with limited trigger time who wants to inflict mayhem on or intimidate multiple opponents. Does that make any sense? No, I don't think so. No more than wearing your pants most of the way down your butt makes sense, or any other fashion choice "makes sense." Talking from a shooting standpoint here. "Cool" on its own with no other redeeming benefits doesn't "make sense" in shooting. Seriously, you don't think you can inflict mayhem or intimidate multiple opponents with a handgun held vertically? I'd suggest that of course you can. It's about looking "bad ass" and nothing more. |
