As I said in regards to .380, your mileage may vary, but when I can get 9mm pistols at the same size or smaller than the PPK, I choose the 9mm. I have a wider choice of SD ammunition in 9mm, including some for short barrels. It's a judgement call, no doubt. As for "center mass" shots, those are great at the range on a paper target, but certainly no guarantees in a real SD situation. Just my 2 cents.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: For years I loaded with hardball, today there are several excellent self defense loads that will get the job done with a hit "center mass". It sure beats pepper spray or a police whistle and 911 in Philly is "dial a prayer"! |
